Il mulino di fonti
Vitorchiano, Latium
The origin of this wonderful building, once a place where
olives and wheat were manufactured, date back to 1644, as
witnessed by a carved stone lintel over the main entrance.
The valley where the building is sited has a magic
atmosphere for its scenary and its solitary location.
On one side there is a "high canyon" with volcanic stones,
the other side leans out on a hill surrounded with vineyards.
The way to the house is across a little stone bridge, dating
back to the 17th century, of an astonishing architectural
shape. A stream with clear waters flows beneath it, through
a valley with volcanic stones, in a wild and unspoilt
wildlife.
Close to the hill, the "real surprise" may be found, which
makes the stay in this place really unbelievable: a swimming
pool dug, into a huge stone pool, once used to water the
fields, surrounded by big rocks carved with Etruscan
drawings. This feature makes this place really unique and
amazing.
Besides the main building with 8 beds, a lovely panoramic
outhouse with 4 beds may be also used by the hosts.
